Becoming and Being A Green Sanctuary

"Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part." Seventh Unitarian Universalist Principle

"You must be the change that you want to see in the world."

Ghandi

What Is This Thing Called Green Sanctuary?

A Green Sanctaury

Are we redecorating the sanctuary?

Is this our new color palette?

Exactly what is this all about?

How do we get involved in making a difference?

The UUCA Board of Trustees established a Green Sanctuary Committee on November 17, 2004. The purpose of the Committee is to work toward certification of UUCA as a "Green Sanctuary", a status recognized by and conferred through the UU General Assembly and the UU Ministry for Earth [link]. Our PROPOSED Environmental Sustainability Policy is available for review by clicking PESP.

Our intention is to seek recognition as a Green Sanctuary church.

To better help you understand the Green Sanctaury program, we have provided a series of questions and answers. Click [link] to view the answer for that specific question.

We continue to seek volunteers to help develop strategies for our church to operate in accordance with a respect for the interdependent web of all existence. If you are interested in helping, please contact Larry Holt at GreenSanctuary@UUAsheville.org.
