Membership

Filler

Visitors and newcomers often ask for information about UUCA Membership. The requirements to become a Member are outlined in our Bylaws.

Meaningful Membership describes more fully what to expect as a Member and what the obligations of Membership are.

Someone from the membership team is available in Sandburg Hall each Sunday to meet you and answer any questions you might have. FMI, contact Membership Coordinator Linda Kooiker at membershipcoord@UUAsheville.org.

UU 101

We hold UU 101 classes throughout the year to provide an orientation to our faith and our church. It is the foundation of UUCA Membership and is suggested for those planning to become official Friends of the church as well. Visitors who want to learn more about being a UU are welcome to attend.

Classes are led by our Minister, UU101 team members, the Membership Coordinator, and other church leaders. Details are posted on the calendar, in the newsletter and in Sandburg Hall.

Class format consists of three evening sessions, one each week for three consecutive weeks. The upcoming fall 2010 UU 101 will be held on Wednesdays, Sept. 29, Oct. 6 and Oct. 13. Attendance all three evenings is essential.

Each session begins at 5:30 PM with a complimentary dinner for participants and their children. Free childcare is provided. At the end of the workshop, participants are given an opportunity to become a Member or Friend of the church.

Sign up sheets are located in Sandburg Hall and in the Religious Education Department.
