In setting this policy, the Board is trying to balance our concern for the safety of our congregation and our desire to hold a scheduled service for those who are able to attend.

Every attempt will be made to keep our facility open, for at least the 11:15 AM service, even if only for coffee and conversation in Sandburg Hall. However, no one who is scheduled to be involved in either the services or Religious Education (RE) program is expected to risk his or her safety in order to fulfill a prior commitment.

Those involved with Sunday morning activities should call our answering machine (254-6001) after 7:45 AM Sunday morning to learn if services and RE classes will be cancelled. The message will clearly notify all volunteers involved with Sunday morning activities whether they are expected to be here.  Information about other congregational-sponsored activities and events will be included as necessary.

If possible, a notification will be sent to those who receive regular UUCA emails and a notice of cancellation added to the website.
